Dignified Digits
Dignified digits dispatched To the citadels of promise Osmosis of viscous technical knowledge Precipitate a seamless concoction In those hallowed halls Digits filled to the brim, bursting at their strait-laced seams Goodness runneth over So now the digits have run their due course Sponged and soaked in glory In noble reverence for their imagined community Marching in perfect unison Towards a perfecter union Each cog welded with precision Into the Leviathan's machinery As they hike to their disparate citadels Their lids are closed To contaminants To heretics To free radicals But as the puppet masters maintain their tenuous hold Pulling the strings, digits toe Their line of thought and place Were they ever meant to win that race? Goodness injected and expounded in that contractual clause For the glorious proper cause Unable to stem the tide of passion of that most vile apostasy Some digits do with impunity But is it not impossible To stop the fall of a doomed mountaineer Flailing arms desperately grasp air Flesh torn to shreds on thankless rocks, As it is to hold emaciated dogs From the fettered sheep
Still some will flee with great tenacity To survive creatively Debonair debauched digits they might be Though some do run the machinery /Gvoz/ June 26, 2005
